Q: I just read your answer about 'why this movie'. I have to agree with you. No matter how many times I watch it, it just hits my heart, like I'm seeing it for the first time. Every detail in this movie is imperfect perfection. I love this movie so much and I'm grateful that you keep up with this blog!

I’m grateful for followers like you for keeping up with it as well, thank you!

Q: Did you ever reach a point where you weren't annoyed by the Stan and Mary plot thread? Them getting stoned and drunk always remains skippable for me, despite having seen the film well over a hundred times.

Agreed, I don’t like Mary at all.

I used to feel bad for the girl for the whole “in love with someone she can’t have” scenario, because we’ve all been there. But going after a married man (unknowingly for the second time), messing with Stan’s feelings, and almost messing up the entire procedure?

Long story short, I definitely agree, whenever that scene comes on I just want to get back to the real love story of Joel and Clem.

Q: Why this movie?

I’ve always identified with Clementine, from her spontaneity, her blunt demeanor, all the way down to the hair dye.

But more importantly, no other movie affects my emotions as much as this one. It speaks to me. I’ve watched it hundreds of times at this point (both personally and for this blog) and it still breaks my heart every time.
